What it is to be Human

these perverse times
demand that the forgotten
essential nature of humanity
is spelled out
identifying what it is
to be human is
simplicity itself
we are an expression
of universal creation
(one of infinite number)
with characteristics not foreign
to the whole
we find ourselves, our peace
and joy in sharing love;
we are transceivers of love,
the motivating force of all creation
is it so strange that we
are at our best when we
reflect, generate, give
and receive love?
strange perhaps for the perverse
but not for children
or the pure of heart
we are not born to kill
engage in senseless wars
of theft and appropriation;
we are not born to divide
humanity into factions,
we are born to love
each other and all creation
as ONE
that is our essential nature
and reason for Being
watch children of all creeds,
races and religions
play together as one
oblivious to superficial differences -
a child has no difficulty
recognising humanity
is it coincidence that
all the great religious teachers
espouse good fellowship
and love?
if we veer from our essential nature
and purpose we suffer,
surely the joy of love
and the suffering of perversity
are good teachers
never inflict pain on any creature
do not disrupt the harmony of nature
live life in peace and joy as ONE,
you know it to be true
simply because you are human
hold fast to love, harmony
and good fellowship,
reject the evil and divisive perversity
that has overtaken the world
it is time to turn your back on those
that divide, kill and destroy
embrace one another
in Love and prosper
once again
