Sapphire Blue
by talis Wednesday, Feb 17 2010, 7:19pm
international / poetry / post

                  Eyes

what are u doing
with those wild blue eyes
jumping
down my spine
into my furnace
of desire

(am i) so vulnerable
ur fixed sapphire gaze
meets no resistance?

ur eyes
on my neck
and groin,
stop my discourse
dead in its semiotic tracks,
mid-speech!

the art on ur body
is shamed by ur eyes;
ur tatts
i could easily
lick clean off ur skin
with my digital tongue.

what do u see
that fascinates u so,
i wonder?

is it wild abandon,
foolishness
or fearlessness
that enables u
to hold my glances,
glints that usually frighten whores
nuns and banshees alike?

ur mono-directional eyes
scintillating, shimmering
transfix
and vibrate
from sacrum to brain
completing a circuit of desire --
illuminating yet
imperceptible
to all
except you,
it would seem!

What is behind ur sapphire see?
